THE IRONMARK FIELD GUIDE

A good quote explains
what goes underneath.

A garage floor quote is more useful when it explains the scope, not just the total. Use these questions when comparing flooring contractors in Dallas-Fort Worth.

01

1. What preparation is included?

Ask how the concrete will be evaluated and mechanically prepared, and whether removal of existing coatings or contamination is included. Preparation requirements depend on the condition of the slab.

02

2. How are cracks and moisture handled?

Ask which repairs are included, what happens if hidden conditions are discovered, and whether moisture testing or a moisture-control system is recommended for your floor. A coating cannot guarantee a moving structural crack will disappear.

03

3. What material system is specified?

A clear quote identifies the base, decorative finish, topcoat, and the conditions each is intended to handle. Discuss sun exposure, traction, cleaning products, and vehicle use.

04

4. When can the space be used?

Get the expected work schedule as well as separate walking and vehicle return-to-service guidance. Products and conditions vary, so the timeline should be specific to your project.

05

5. What does the warranty actually cover?

Ask for the warranty in writing. Review its duration, covered failures, exclusions, maintenance obligations, and claim process. Compare those terms alongside the workmanship scope.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose the lowest bid?+

Compare the total with the preparation, materials, repairs, warranty, and service included. Two quotes for different scopes are not directly comparable.

What information helps get an accurate quote?+

Provide your city, approximate square footage, photos, preferred finish, how the space is used, and any known existing coating, staining, cracking, or moisture concerns.
